Zoom - One Platform to Connect

If you're looking to communicate with your team on the go, Zoom might be the solution you're looking for. As its name suggests, this platform allows you and your colleagues to converse in real-time - whether over a Google Hangout or through one of the many integrations they have with other popular platforms. In just 5 minutes, you can create an account, add your team members, and start talking through text messages, screen sharing, audio conferencing, and even video conferencing capabilities.

Updates

Zoom presents a cloud-based video conferencing platform that helps connect people across the globe. Zoom's features include HD video, screen sharing, remote control support, and more. In addition, zoom integrates with various popular software platforms and offers desktop applications for Windows and Mac OS X and mobile apps for iOS and Android.

No other video conference service brings this connectivity to all your devices - on your terms. - You can host or join a meeting with just one click or tap. Plus, you'll never be out of reach with Zoom's free apps that allow you to meet from anywhere.

- Talk to people both inside and outside your company.

- With the help of an immersive view, you can gather all meeting attendees into one virtual area so they can converse and work together in harmony. Depending on the circumstances of your conference, you can design a suitable virtual meeting room environment.

- Live Closed Captions: Zoom's newest feature makes meetings accessible for everyone. Closed Captions allow everyone to follow along whether your meeting attendees are hearing impaired or not.

- Blurred Background: this is an update on the newest release of Zoom. The blurred background feature will also help those who have issues with cameras see their face clearly by darkening it behind the webcam to focus attention on what they're talking about instead of how they look while doing it.

- You can suppress background noise using Zoom's noise suppression system. Noise suppression masks distracting background noises such as traffic or construction and create a clear voice quality over the Internet connection.

PROS

Zoom is easy to set up and use for audio and video calls.

It also offers many integrations with other applications, including Slack, Dropbox, Google Drive, and Gmail.

Zoom's screen-sharing feature allows you to share your desktop with participants.

Zoom is free for up to 10 participants on a conference call or 20 viewers of a webinar.

Zoom also offers several different account levels that allow you to customize the essential features of your organization.

You can create separate user accounts so multiple people can log in and out as needed.

Zoom's cloud storage solution includes two gigabytes of storage per person (upgradeable) and enough space for storing documents, spreadsheets, photos, videos, and more.

CONS

Zoom only works on a computer or mobile device and cannot be used with other programs simultaneously.

Zoom is also not very compatible with Windows 10. When someone joins your meeting, you will get a notification if they join from Android, but you will not receive any notification if they join from an Apple device.

The audio quality can also be relatively poor, which may lead to a frustrating experience for those trying to communicate.

The video quality has improved over the years, but it still does not compare to FaceTime or Skype.

How to use it?

1. You can start a Zoom meeting by going to the app or website and clicking Start Meeting.

2. You'll need an account, but you can sign up for one in less than five minutes

3. Once you're logged in, you'll be able to invite others from your contact list. If the person isn't on your list, you can enter their email address, and they will receive an invitation.

4. Share what you want to say with everyone on the call by typing it into the chat box at the bottom.

5. As someone is talking, you'll see a message come through that says talk. When it's your turn to talk, just click talk below what you want to say for your voice to come out of everyone else's speakers
